Past Events
On Sunday, August 11 from 2-4 PM we hosted the biggest block party in Flossmoor to celebrate Flossmoor Park’s 100-year anniversary. Friends gathered to take a walking tour of 100-year old homes, create crafts in the style of the Flossmoor Community Church Community House artist and former resident, Fred Vanderwalker, share what they love about Flossmoor, and connect with neighbors.
You can view the map online and take a self-guided walking tour of the first 9 homes built in Flossmoor Park.
On Wednesday, June 26 we hosted a tour of the Wagner building. Flossmoor Station Restaurant owners Carolyn and Dean Armstrong hosted a reception to celebrate 100 years of Flossmoor history and raise funds for the renovation of our future home, the Wagner Building.
The station was originally constructed in 1912 and served as a full-service station for early commuters and visitors. It was later converted into a mall and in 1996 the Armstrong’s turned it into the Flossmoor Station Restaurant and Brewery. Included in the display was an original 1910 set of blueprints of the Flossmoor train station.
